Resource: VAWnet published a report titled “Sexual Victimization in Indian Country: Barriers and Resources for Native Women Seeking Help.” Even in the 21st century, victim-blaming is alive and well in Indian Country.
Victims are still experiencing the history of oppression, violence, and maltreatment at the hands of the United States and its citizens. This report summarizes barriers victims face and the resources available to American Indian victims of sexual victimization.
