Orientation

We wish to welcome you to the Leadership Program. We are pleased to have the opportunity to work with you over the next several months. We are providing this package to you to introduce ourselves, and to give you additional information about the program.

The Leadership Program was developed to provide you with additional resources to assist you accomplish your goals. Of equal importance, this program will provide a forum for all the participants to exchange ideas and information as well as to offer support and understanding of the many challenges you face on a daily basis.

Included in this packet is a brief overview of the classes that will be presented during the course. These classes are based on practices that have been successful in other Native American Victim Assistance Programs. We encourage you to explore the materials with us to determine what will help you and your program.

This will be a mutual learning process. We the facilitators bring our knowledge and skills to the table, but you are the ones out in the field every day. Therefore, we anticipate that each and every participant will be critical to the learning process. Someone may say “I do not have enough experience to offer anything of value.” To that we say, not true. Everyone has insights and experience that may be just what another person in the group needs to know. So, as you can see, you are key to the success of this program.

We look forward to meeting you, and working with you. We feel honored to have the opportunity to be a part of the success of your program.
