Greetings Faith Based Grantees!

It is with great pleasure that the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) and Unified Solutions Tribal Community Development Group, Inc. (Unified) announces the first joint Tribal Victim Assistance and Faith Based National Training and Skills Based conference on May 11-13, 2010 at the Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant, Oklahoma.

OVC and Unified invite you to come together to participate in three full days of skill building workshops, resource sharing and cultural networking with your peers on your program's victim assistance services. OVC requested that each grantee bring a team of 4 individuals from your community.

Unified Solutions will provide air travel, per diem, and lodging accommodations for Faith Based grantees and Faith Based Advisory Board members. We will prepare per diem checks for you and they will be distributed to you when you arrive at the conference


Who Should Attend?

1) Elected Official, Board Member or Tribal Leader
2) Faith Leader
3) Program Manager or Director of your program
4) Advocate


Registration:

You will also need you to register for the conference on our web site. Please go to our Unified website www.unified-solutions.org/register-conference.php for conference registration. Registration deadline for the conference is Friday, April 23, 2010. This enables us to know how many individuals will be attending so we can plan for meals, conference materials, etc.

Unified Solutions will reserve a room for you, in your name, based on the information you provide when you complete your registration online.


Travel Arrangements:

Travel arrangements must be made through Rio Grande Travel 1 Agency. Please contact Christine Lopez as soon as possible to assist you in making your air travel arrangements to and from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.

Transportation:

Unified Solutions and the Choctaw Nation will provide transportation. On Friday morning, May 14, early transportation will be provided back to the airport and flights should not be scheduled before 10:00 AM. Travel time from the Dallas Fort Worth International airport to Durant is approximately 90 minutes. Grantees are responsible for any other transportation fees to/from the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, should you choose not to utilize group transportation arranged by Unified Solutions. The conference will conclude at 5:00 PM on Thursday, May 13, 2010. To make sure we have enough buses to accommodate everyone, please send us your arrival and departure times so we can organize transportation accordingly.


Resource Table:

Unified Solutions will have a Resource Table for you to display and share your program materials and you are encouraged to bring brochures, newsletters, photos, etc., to show OVC what great work your programs are doing!


Gift Exchange:

A cultural gift exchange will occur during the conference. Please bring an item from your community and participate in the gift exchange.
