Childrens Justice ActAnnouncing First Annual CJA SymposiumHalito Children's Justice Act Project Communities! It is with great pleasure that we are announcing the first Annual Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) Children's Justice Act {CJA) Symposium and Post-Awards Meeting to be held April 20-22 in beautiful Albuquerque, New Mexico. The symposium/post-awards theme this year is "Building Capacity Through Circles of Care and Promating Children's Justice". Throughout the last few months, Unified Solutions has observed the development and planning of collaborative efforts and child victim services in your communities. We now invite you to come together to participate in three days of skill building workshops, resource sharing and networking with your peers on your programs CJA services. Unified Solutions is pleased to be partnering with the State of New Mexico's Indian Child Welfare (NMICW) Conference on Thursday, April 22 at the lsleta Pueblo Resort and Casino. Unified Soiutions will provide transportation to the NMICW Conference to allow CJA grantees to participate in topical workshops such as Customary Adoptions, Reprocessing Resolving Trauma Disorders in Children, Gangs, Traumatized Children and FetalAlcohol Syndrome, Cultural Diversity, Children Witnessing Domestic Violence, and much more. These workshops are in addition to the Symposiums interactive sessions on building collaboration teams, coordinated community responses, investigation processes, report writing, and other offerings you asked for in your recent training self assessments. OVC and Unified request that each CJA grantee bring a team of four individuals from your community with the following representatives: 1 project staff member, 1 social worker, 1 law enforcement officer, and 1 court judge/prosecutor. Unified Solutions will provide lodging support for up to 4 days for all participants, and as mentioned above transportation to the NMICW conference.
